A deal between the US and China will allow TikTok to remain operational in the United States with a buyer to be announced soon and a reported 30–45 day completion window. Oracle is expected to continue hosting TikTok servers inside the US to address data-storage concerns. US lawmakers cited national security risks from data sharing with China, prompting demands that ByteDance sell its US operations or face a ban. China confirmed a framework agreement and stated that licensing of algorithms and intellectual property and any technology exports will be reviewed and approved under Chinese law.
