"Yes, I am seriously considering it."
"Haven't thought much about it, but let me know when he makes up his mind. Dan is laser focused on winning back the house and preventing Trump from militarizing New York, not on fighting with other Democrats."
"I look forward to working with him to improve the lives of all New Yorkers."
Brad Lander, outgoing city comptroller and former mayoral candidate, is seriously considering a run for the Manhattan and Brooklyn congressional seat held by U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman. Lander is a progressive and an ally of Mayor‑elect Zohran Mamdani and first indicated interest at the Somos conference in Puerto Rico. The district covers Lower Manhattan neighborhoods such as Tribeca and Chinatown and parts of northwest Brooklyn including Sunset Park and Park Slope. Lander resides in Park Slope while Goldman lives in Tribeca. Goldman emphasizes national priorities and strong support for Israel, drawing criticism from more progressive Democrats who view him as vulnerable after Mamdani’s victory.
