Evanston warned residents to report sightings of federal immigration agents after local officials were informed about likely ICE activity in the coming days. A DHS social-media post announced Operation Midway Blitz, named for an Illinois woman killed in January and accompanied by a tribute video. Authorities identified the suspect as 29-year-old Julio Cucul Bol, described as a Guatemalan national alleged to have been driving while intoxicated in the crash that also killed 21-year-old Chloe Polzin. The DHS post said the operation would target people who came to Chicago because the city limits local cooperation with ICE and used a militaristic term invoking sudden attacks. Evanston officials stressed welcoming immigrant and refugee neighbors and pledged to protect residents.
