A bolt-action rifle used in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk was recovered in a wooded area where investigators believe the killer fled. The rifle was wrapped in a towel and had three unused ammunition cartridges still in the chamber. The recovered cartridges were scrawled with transgender and anti-fascist messages. Kirk was shot and killed during a campus event at Utah Valley University after taking a single shot to the neck and slumping in his chair. Grisly video captured the shooting. A relentless manhunt targets a suspect believed to be of college age, and law enforcement reports having good video footage of the individual.
"We will relentlessly pursue this case, and the shooter, until we find him, FBI Salt Lake City Special Agent-In-Charge Robert Bohls said during a press conference Thursday."
