CENTCOM Chief Scolds Congressman During Hearing: That's an Entirely Inappropriate Statement From You, Sir'
"I was an hour away. We were all set to go, said Trump on Tuesday. It would have been happening right now. Yeah, it was all done. The boats, the ships were all loaded. They were all loaded to the brim and we were all set to start."
CENTCOM Commander Admiral Brad Cooper responded sharply during a congressional hearing after Rep. Seth Moulton asked how many more Americans would have to die for President Donald Trump’s mistake in Iran. Moulton questioned whether unconditional surrender was part of the plan, and Cooper replied that military objectives had been achieved, with a ceasefire in place and a blockade being executed while preparing for contingencies. Moulton said the situation did not seem to be going well and asked how many more Americans must be asked to die. Cooper called the question inappropriate. Reports also cited 15 U.S. soldiers killed and more than 500 injured, with more than 6,000 Iranians killed, including 120 school children during U.S. bombing of a school. Trump reportedly canceled another planned wave of attacks after allies in Gulf states urged delay.
