Her family said she had epilepsy and seizures. Local police found no evidence of foul play and described her death as natural. Aber was appointed U.S. Attorney by President Joe Biden, confirmed by the Senate in 2021, and led the Eastern District of Virginia. She prosecuted high-profile cases, including securing a guilty plea from former CIA analyst Asif Rahman. Aber worked earlier in the Justice Department and resigned on Jan. 20, calling the role an honor.
