Christopher Earl Lloyd, 39, was charged with 13 counts of wire fraud for allegedly using dating apps to scam over $2 million from victims by lying about his financial success.
Lloyd convinced victims he had closed multiple properties and worked as a financial manager, all of which were lies, to persuade them to make fraudulent investments.
He signed contracts specifying victim investments and promised regular returns, but instead used the money for personal expenses, including a $40,000 withdrawal for a car.
If convicted, Lloyd could face up to 20 years in prison for each wire fraud count and 10 years for the monetary transaction count.
