Judge Cameron Currie dismissed the original indictment of New York Attorney General Letitia James and charges against Jim Comey. Prosecutors at the Eastern District of Virginia attempted to secure a new indictment twice, first in Norfolk and then in Alexandria, but both presentations produced a grand jury no true bill. On December 11 the grand jury returned the no bill in open court without an EDVA attorney present. The government moved to seal the failed indictment on December 12, and Magistrate Judge William Porter denied the sealing request, citing transparency and the public interest in vindicating reputation.
