Biden's cancer diagnosis: Letters to the Editor - May 21, 2025
Briefly

Former President Biden's recent prostate cancer diagnosis has sparked controversy and skepticism regarding the transparency of his health information. Critics question whether Biden and his medical team withheld knowledge of his condition, suggesting that if it were truly as advanced as reported, it should have been detected earlier. Commentators, including medical professionals and cancer survivors, express doubts over the credibility of the public information surrounding his health, raising concerns about potential implications for his political future and the decisions made by his family and doctors during his presidency.
As a prostate cancer survivor, my sympathy for Biden is tempered by two concerns. First, at this late stage, the disease simply had to be known by his doctors at least several years ago.
The fact that he has bone metastasis is even more evidence that the cancer has been around for a while. I'm not a cynical individual, and I am empathetic, but I'm skeptical of Biden's cancer just now being diagnosed at its advanced stage.
