Apple removed ICEBlock and similar apps from its App Store after law enforcement raised safety concerns. US Attorney General Pam Bondi demanded the app's removal, saying the app was designed to put ICE officers at risk. The app showed movements of immigration officers and has been downloaded more than a million times. Joshua Aaron, the creator, denied the claims and compared the app to crowdsourced speed-trap reporting, citing First Amendment protections. The FBI linked similar apps to a Dallas attacker who killed two detainees. The apps emerged amid increased ICE raids during President Trump's immigration crackdown.
