Sarah White, a 41-year-old protester at the November 15, 2023 APEC summit in San Francisco, was allegedly sucker-punched by Michael Davies, a 42-year-old who had arrived to volunteer. Davies had difficulty re-entering the guarded Moscone Center after being told to dress more appropriately; he was confronted by protesters and went to a Secret Service agent for help. Video footage captured White shouting slogans and at least one angle appears to show Davies throwing a punch. White sustained devastating injuries and has filed a lawsuit against Davies and the event organizers. Police arrested a person for assault at the same time and location.
