During President Trump's State of the Union address, Rep. Al Green (D-TX) held up a sign stating 'Black People Aren't Apes' in the House chamber before being escorted out. The sign referenced a Truth Social post by Trump depicting former President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama as apes. Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) attempted to remove the sign from Green. Green was subsequently removed from the chamber by security. This marks the second consecutive year Green has been ejected from the State of the Union, having also been removed the previous year for shouting protests during Trump's speech.
