President Donald Trump renamed the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to include his name after the center's board, chaired by Trump and stocked with loyalists such as Attorney General Pam Bondi, Chief-of-Staff Susie Wiles, and Fox host Laura Ingraham, voted for the change. Trump's name was placed on the building the day after the announcement. CNN host Abby Phillip questioned Republican strategist Scott Jennings about the precedent given the center's congressional designation as a living memorial to JFK. Jennings defended the move and suggested Democrats would retaliate by renaming memorials.
