6 in 10 Americans Back Medicare for All - Poll
Briefly

Nearly 60% of Americans support Medicare for All, reflecting a significant majority across various income levels. The Economist/YouGov poll revealed only 27% oppose universal healthcare. Although majorities opposed include Republican, conservative, and Trump-supportive voters, many in these demographics acknowledge dissatisfaction with the current healthcare system. Overall, 56% of respondents viewed the U.S. health care system negatively. The poll also indicated strong support for increased federal funding for Medicare and Medicaid, with 56% wanting higher Medicare spending and 49% favoring more Medicaid funding.
A protest co-led by the California Nurses Assn. called on Rep. Young Kim to vote against President Donald Trump's spending bill that would slash spending on healthcare and other federal safety net programs.
New polling demonstrates that nearly 6 in 10 Americans are supportive of Medicare for All in the United States, with only a quarter of voters voicing opposition to a universal health care system.
According to an Economist/YouGov poll published earlier this week, 59 percent of Americans back the idea of Medicare for All. Only 27 percent of those polled said they did not support the idea.
The only demographics with majorities opposed to the idea were Republican-, conservative- and Trump-supportive voters.
