Yoel Romero Withdraws From BKFC Knucklemania 6 Co-Main Event
"During my weight cut for RAF I felt my immune system was low, and I was feeling very weak. A few days after my Jan. 10 RAF match I started to experience severe flu symptoms."
"As a result, BKFC's No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter, David Mundell, will step in to face Hunt in a 199-pound catchweight affair. Hunt vs. Mundell will serve as the co-main event for BKFC Knucklemania 6, which takes place on Feb. 7 at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia. The card is headlined by a heavyweight title tilt between Ben Rothwell and Andrei Arlovski."
Yoel Romero withdrew from his scheduled fight against Lorenzo Hunt at BKFC Knucklemania 6 after contracting a very strong strain of the flu. Romero reported a weakened immune system during his RAF weight cut and developed severe flu symptoms days after his Jan. 10 RAF match, leaving him unable to train and prioritizing his health. BKFC is working to rebook Romero vs. Hunt for a later date. David Mundell will step in to face Hunt in a 199-pound catchweight co-main event on Feb. 7 in Philadelphia, with Rothwell vs. Arlovski headlining. Romero recently beat Pat Downey, lost to Stephen Buchanan, and previously knocked out Theo Doukas in his BKFC debut.
