Woman gets sweetheart plea from judge for killing mom and 2 kids in horror crash
""The lives of Natasha Saada and her young daughters were stolen by the callous choices of a chronically reckless driver on Ocean Parkway," said Eric Gonzalez, district attorney for Brooklyn, in a statement."
""Though the proposed sentence falls short of the maximum we sought, it will still send a clear message that reckless driving that ends in tragedy will be met with serious penalties.""
"When first responders arrived she ranted about how she was "possessed" and "had the devil in me," according to the New York Post."
In March, Miriam Yarimi lost control of her Audi A4 on Ocean Parkway after colliding with an Uber and ploughed into a family. Natasha Saada and daughters Diana, 7, and Deborah, 5, were killed; four-year-old Philip was grievously injured. Yarimi drove on a suspended license and had amassed more than 93 traffic violations, including 18 school-zone speeding tickets in 2024. She pleaded guilty to manslaughter and Judge Danny Chen offered a 3-to-9-year sentence. Prosecutors, who had sought the 15-year maximum, plan to request a harsher sentence. The crash devastated Brooklyn’s tight-knit Jewish community.
