"A Universal Orlando guest has died after suffering a health incident on a roller coaster at the new Epic Universe theme park. The unidentified man was in his 30s. He was on Stardust Racers, the park's largest and most intense thrill ride, on Wednesday night when he became unresponsive while mid-ride. He was brought to the hospital and later pronounced dead, according to park officials."
"Epic Universe opened as part of the Universal Orlando resort in May, the first major theme park to open in the U.S. since 2001. Stardust Racers is the park's centerpiece roller coaster, with two ride tracks that simultaneously launch; the ride cars at times run parallel to each other, and at times the tracks intertwine around each other. The ride tops out at 62 mph and reaches 133 feet in the sky."
A guest in his 30s became unresponsive while riding Stardust Racers at Epic Universe and later died at a hospital. Universal said it is cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff's Office and confirmed the attraction remains closed. The Sheriff's Office is investigating and has not provided a public timeline for reopening. This is the first death at Epic Universe since the park opened in May. Previous legal actions over ride injuries at other parks were mentioned, including alleged brain and spinal injuries on Rip Ride Rockit and a separate fatality-related suit tied to Six Flags' X2. Stardust Racers reaches 62 mph, 133 feet, and features 5,000 feet of track.
