President Donald Trump announced the renomination of Jared Isaacman to serve as NASA administrator after withdrawing the nomination months earlier over concerns about Isaacman's political leanings. Trump previously said he thought Isaacman "was very good" but was "surprised to learn" Isaacman was a "blue blooded Democrat" who had not contributed to Republicans. Isaacman had Elon Musk's endorsement; Trump and Musk experienced a public falling out earlier in the year but later improved relations. Trump said he and Musk have spoken "on and off" and that their relationship is "good." Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy is serving as interim NASA administrator.
