Former President Donald Trump has asserted that severe damage occurred to Iran's nuclear sites following recent US bombings, claiming the sites were 'obliterated'. However, Rafael Grossi, head of the IAEA, noted that significant damage was expected at the Fordow site, though exact assessments remain challenging due to limited access to data. Satellite images suggested Iran removed materials prior to the attacks, which supports claims of preemptive measures taken ahead of the bombings. Reports indicated that while the Fordow site has sustained severe damage, it has not been completely destroyed.
"Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images," Trump stated, contrasting his claim with more cautious assessments from officials.
"Assessing the extent of the damage has been complicated by the fact that the US, Israel and the IAEA only have access to surface satellite imagery of the sites," indicating the challenges in verifying damage.
