Elijah Armstrong, Nino Chindavanh, and Jayden Rucker were arrested in California in December and later appeared in federal court in San Francisco. A federal grand jury indicted them for conspiracy to commit robbery and kidnapping, along with attempted robbery and attempted kidnapping. Prosecutors alleged Armstrong and Rucker were arrested in Los Angeles on Dec. 31, while Chindavanh was arrested in Sunnyvale on Dec. 22. Initial federal court appearances occurred on April 14 for Chindavanh and May 11 for Armstrong and Rucker. The indictment alleged the men stole from victims and terrorized them to obtain large sums of cryptocurrency. Prosecutors characterized the scheme as sophisticated, brazen, violent, and dangerous, involving robbery and kidnapping and theft of millions in cryptocurrency.
