The Safest and Most Dangerous States For Families
Briefly

A nationwide analysis examined 26 safety factors across all 50 states to determine risks for families. Categories included violent and sexual crimes, firearm possession in schools, theft, drug crimes, environmental and infrastructure factors (air, water and road quality), birth complications, motor vehicle accidents and fatality rates in young people. The findings show substantial safety disparities among states, with some states performing well on homicide, assault, air quality and infant death rates while others rank as higher-risk. Recommended precautions for families in higher-risk states include researching healthcare options before pregnancy, choosing communities with lower crime rates, and practicing enhanced road safety.
