"illegal solicitation, as well as deceptive and unethical practices aimed at persuading individuals to become clients through misrepresentations."
"Any allegations of fraud, paid referrals, or unethical practices by DTLA Law Group are not only unsubstantiated, but false. We intend to fight this in the court of law, where the facts will show that we operate with unwavering integrity, prioritizing client welfare."
"practices that appeared designed to exploit vulnerable individuals."
A 28-year-old former paralegal at Downtown LA Law Group sued the firm on Dec. 16, alleging the firm failed to address complaints about illegal solicitation and paid-referral schemes. The lawsuit claims clients were sometimes paid before joining lawsuits and that the firm amassed plaintiffs through practices that appeared designed to exploit vulnerable individuals. The paralegal had helped recruit residents for cases involving noxious landfill fumes and said partners praised her work. DTLA called the allegations baseless and said any claims of fraud or unethical practices are unsubstantiated and false. DTLA has expanded into large-scale civil litigation, including wildfire and sex-abuse cases.
