State Police trooper accused of child abuse facing more charges
"Michael Gagnon, of Plympton, was initially arrested in November arraigned on charges of domestic assault and battery and aggravated assault on a child under 14 years of age, Plympton police said at the time."
"The initial child abuse allegations came after an investigation by the Plymouth County District Attorney's office, the Department of Children and Families, and the Plympton police."
"The Massachusetts State Police stands firmly against all forms of domestic violence and took definitive action in this case to relieve the Trooper of duty and suspended him."
Michael Gagnon, a State Police trooper from Plympton, is facing additional charges of unlawful wiretap and violation of an abuse prevention order. These charges are in addition to previous allegations of domestic assault and battery, as well as aggravated assault on a child under 14. The new charges stem from incidents that occurred on March 10. Gagnon has been suspended without pay since December 1, and he is expected to be arraigned in Plymouth District Court. The initial child abuse allegations involved a victim reporting physical abuse.
