Sheriff’s deputies arrived to find multiple people suffering from gunshot wounds and witnesses seeking shelter in nearby businesses and properties. Four of the injured were reported in critical condition at hospitals. The property is owned by Willie Turral Food Services, and the event was a Battery Creek High School alumni tailgate. Victims’ identities were not released. U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace expressed heartbreak and offered prayers for victims and families.
