An injury stoppage prompted Georgia to bring the offense back on the field with options to try to draw the Rebels offsides or take a delay-of-game penalty before a punt. Instead, the ball was snapped to Gunner Stockton and Ole Miss linebacker Suntarine Perkins came unblocked off the edge for a sack. Ole Miss scored two plays later and extended the lead. Georgia had earlier completed a successful fake punt; analytics had advised going for it on fourth down.
