Six Men Are Charged After Woman Was Dragged From Idaho Town Hall
Briefly

Six men are facing battery and false imprisonment charges after forcibly removing Teresa Borrenpohl from a Republican town-hall meeting in Coeur d'Alene. The confrontation erupted when Borrenpohl, a former Democratic candidate, heckled state legislators. After the sheriff ordered her to leave, security personnel pulled her from the meeting, violating regulations regarding uniform identification, leading to the revocation of their business license. Lear Asset Management's CEO maintains the charges are unfounded, indicating potential legal defenses ahead.
The charges stem from an altercation on Feb. 22 that began when Teresa Borrenpohl heckled speakers at a meeting with state legislators hosted by the Kootenai County Republican Central Committee.
Sheriff Robert Norris of Kootenai County told Ms. Borrenpohl to leave, pulled at her arm and threatened to arrest and pepper-spray her, according to footage of the incident.
The City of Coeur d'Alene revoked Lear's business license for violating city ordinances that require security agents to wear clearly marked uniforms.
Paul Trouette, who is the chief executive of Lear, said in an email on Monday that the team was confident in its defense. We believe these charges are false and should have never been made.
