Sean "Diddy" Combs Sentenced to More Than Four Years for Prostitution Charges
"The Court has to consider all of your history here. A history of good works can't wash away the record in this case, which shows that you abused the power and control over the lives of women who you professed to love,"
"To Ms. Ventura and the other brave survivors that came forward, I want to say first: We heard you. I am proud of you for coming to the court to tell the world what really happened,"
"for any harm or hurt that I've caused her, emotionally or physically."
Sean 'Diddy' Combs received a 50-month prison sentence and the maximum $500,000 fine after conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. The sentence will be reduced by the 14 months he already served. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian cited the need to hold abusers accountable for exploitation and violence against women and noted that a history of good works does not negate the record of abuse or guarantee future compliance. The judge acknowledged and praised survivors who came forward. Combs delivered a 12-minute statement expressing sorrow and apologizing to Cassie Ventura and others.
