"Thanks to a partnership between the MBTA and the city of Boston, bus service on routes 23, 28, and 29 is fare free through Feb. 28, 2026. The routes travel through Roxbury and Dorchester, connecting riders to Ruggles, Jackson Square, Mattapan, and Ashmont. Adults who purchase an Amtrak ticket can bring a child between the age of 2 and 12 for 50% off on the same reservation and infants under age 2 ride free."
