Santa Ono Officially Resigns From Michigan Faculty

Santa Ono has officially resigned from his faculty position at the University of Michigan following his recent departure as president. In early May, he was named the sole finalist for the presidency at the University of Florida but was ultimately rejected by the state's Board of Governors due to concerns over his support for diversity and inclusion initiatives. Despite his intentions to influence DEI policies, Ono's resignation seems to eliminate any chance of a return to Michigan's faculty.
Dr. Santa Ono has resigned from University employment and will not be returning to a faculty position.
That's why he eliminated DEI at Michigan, he wrote, and he intended to do the same at UF.
