Rockies Hire Ian Levin As Assistant GM
"Ian brings a proven record of strategic leadership, key roster decision-making, and innovative player performance initiatives,"
"With extensive experience across major league operations, research and development, player development and amateur scouting, Ian will strengthen every part of our operation. We couldn't be more excited to bring him to the Rockies."
The Colorado Rockies hired Ian Levin as assistant general manager. Paul DePodesta praised Levin's strategic leadership, roster decision-making, and innovative player performance initiatives and cited his experience across major league operations, research and development, player development, and amateur scouting. Levin spent two decades with the Mets, starting as a 2005 public relations intern, moving to baseball operations in 2006, and serving as Mets assistant general manager from 2021 through 2024 before leaving a year ago to start his own company. The Rockies have lost at least 101 games in three straight seasons, including 119 losses most recently, and have pursued a major front-office overhaul that included hiring DePodesta, general manager Josh Byrnes, and assistant general manager Tommy Tanous.
