Christopher Cherry, 37, turned himself in to Providence police after a warrant was issued for an assault following a youth basketball game on September 13. He faces one count of felony assault, two counts of simple assault, and one count of disorderly conduct, and posted $2,500 bond. Video from the John Hope Settlement House appeared to show Cherry swinging a knife at and charging a referee during the Providence stop of the TAFT For The People Tour. Cherry also allegedly punched event organizer Isaiah Fuller, who said he and his team left before the referee altercation and removed players when the environment became unsafe. The case remains under investigation.
