Two paramedics on board assisted with the birth of Brielle Renee Blair, who weighed 5-1/2 pounds. The paramedics improvised using blankets from passengers and a shoelace to tie off the umbilical cord. The flight was full, and the delivery required moving passengers to create space for the emergency situation. The mother was en route to Oregon to be with her own mother for the birth.
