Daniel Park, a 32-year-old man charged in connection with the bombing of a Palm Springs fertility clinic, died in federal custody in Los Angeles. Found unresponsive in his cell, he was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Park had been in custody after being arrested at JFK airport and was accused of attempting to help facilitate explosive materials for a bombing that injured four people. His colleague Bartkus detonated the bomb at the clinic, resulting in significant damage.
"Responding employees initiated life-saving measures, emergency medical services were requested while life-saving measures continued. Mr. Park was transported by EMS to a local hospital and subsequently pronounced deceased by hospital personnel."
"Park was accused of helping Guy Edward Bartkus secure 270 pounds of ammonium nitrate, an explosive precursor that can be used to construct homemade bombs."
