"Ethan exemplified what it means to be a Cowboy, to value hard work and being part of a team,"
"While the team and the Cowboy community are processing our own grief, our hearts go out to his family and friends."
Connors State College sophomore Ethan Dietz, a 6-foot-8 forward from Vilonia, Arkansas, died Tuesday from an injury sustained during a game the previous Saturday. The injury occurred during the second half of a game in Texas and initial reports indicate he suffered some kind of head injury. Dietz was averaging 11 points per game through eight games this season. Several of the college's men's and women's basketball games were canceled following his death. A vigil in his honor was scheduled for Dec. 1 on the college campus in Warner, Oklahoma. Connors State described him as exemplifying hard work and teamwork and extended condolences to his family and friends.
