Oakland will celebrate the Ballers' championship with a parade through town
"The city of Oakland is making plans to fete its first professional sports champions since 2018. A parade celebrating the Oakland Ballers, who took home the Pioneer League crown on Sept. 21 after defeating the Idaho Falls Chukars at Raimondi Park, is slated for Sunday, Oct. 5, Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee announced on Tuesday. The parade will start from Oakland City Hall (1 Frank H. Ogawa Plaza) at 1 p.m. and will end at Prescott Market in West Oakland (1620 18th St.)."
"It was only a year ago that the Ballers held their inaugural season in West Oakland, giving Oakland sports fans, spurned by the departure of the Warriors, Raiders and Athletics, a reason to continue to believe in Oakland as a sports city. The last time the city of Oakland hosted a championship parade was 2018, when the Golden State Warriors won their third NBA Championship in four years, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers."
