NJ teen mourned Saturday after she and a friend were allegedly murdered by Cranford teen
"Friends and family of 17-year-old Isabella Salas were mourning Saturday after New Jersey authorities say she and her friend, Maria Niotis, were murdered by another teen in a hit and run attack. The two Cranford High School students were riding e-bikes home Monday night when officials say they were hit by the driver of a black Jeep. Salas and Niotis, also 17, were later pronounced dead at a nearby hospital, according to the Union County Prosecutor's Office."
"Officials there said they charged a 17-year-old boy with with two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the crash on Wednesday. Due to his age, the office has not released the name of the accused driver, but the New York Times and other outlets report he had been accused of stalking Niotis for several months. A visitation is scheduled for Salas on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Cranford. Niotis was laid to rest Friday in Westfield, New Jersey."
