However, following revelations about inaccuracies, the initiative quietly removed the five largest claims from its publicly available receipts, leading to skepticism regarding its efficacy and integrity. Originally boasting $16.6bn in documented savings, the figure fell to $9.6bn after deletions. An initial claim of $8bn savings from the Immigration and Customs Enforcement budget was also incorrectly recorded, revealing that the actual savings were only $8m.
