Stephen McCullagh was arrested after calling 999 on December 19 to report discovering the body of Natalie McNally, his pregnant girlfriend. During police questioning following his arrest, McCullagh stated that McNally had been experiencing problems with her ex-partner. He alleged the ex-partner was sending abusive emails and making calls on private numbers. McCullagh was released the day after his arrest.
