"The moose appeared to have fallen at the point of impact,"
"The motorcyclist struck the pavement just south of the moose."
At 10:17 p.m. on Oct. 2, a motorcyclist collided with a moose on Route 7 between the Great Barrington Recycling Center and the Monument Mountain Trustees Reservation parking lot. The 20-year-old motorcyclist, identified as Wyeth Curtis, and the moose were found on the southbound pavement and both died from the impact. Initial investigation showed the moose stepped into the southbound lane before the collision. The motorcycle continued without the rider and stopped in the northbound lane. Two northbound cars, a Subaru Forester and a Honda Civic, crashed due to the motorcycle's presence in the northbound lane.
