"Cavalcante escaped from Chester County Prison in Pennsylvania on Thursday, not long after he was sentenced to life without parole for fatally stabbing his ex-girlfriend, 31-year-old Deborah Brandão, in front of her two small children. Since then, authorities have primarily focused their search on a heavily-wooded 2-mile region surrounding the prison, specifically around Pocopson Township. On Tuesday, authorities expanded their search efforts to include an area just south of the small town, Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens said during a news conference."
"The garden's cameras initially captured Cavalcante walking north on a trail around 8:21 p.m., Bivens told reporters. The inmate was later recorded a second time at 9:33 p.m., this time heading back south, he added. While Cavalcante's appearance has remained unchanged, authorities noted that he has recently obtained some items, including a backpack, a "duffel-sling type pack," and a hooded sweatshirt. He's been described as a 5-foot, 120-pound man with light skin, black hair and brown eyes."
