An explosion occurred at a business in Roseland in Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, on Friday, producing a large plume of smoke. Tangipahoa Parish government ordered a mandatory evacuation for everyone within a one-mile radius of Highways 51 and 10. The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office directed residents to relocate immediately and stay away until further notice. An elementary school inside the evacuation zone moved students to Amite City. Highway 51 at Highway 10 was closed after the blast. No injuries were reported as of early Friday afternoon. Governor Jeff Landry said officials are monitoring the situation and prayed for safety.
