Ayman Ghazali crashed his pickup truck into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield Township, motivated by Hezbollah's ideology. He expressed intentions to kill as many Jewish people as possible in a video recorded shortly before the attack. Ghazali targeted the synagogue, the largest Jewish temple in Michigan, after researching local Jewish sites. He exchanged gunfire with a security guard before taking his own life.
