Man charged with assaulting federal agent with submarine sandwich in D.C.
Briefly

A man, Sean C. Dunn, was charged with assaulting a federal officer after throwing a sub sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection officer in Washington. The incident occurred shortly before President Trump's announcement of federal intervention in the city. A video captured Dunn yelling at the officers before throwing the sandwich and fleeing. After his arrest, he confessed to the act. Dunn faces potential prison time of up to one year, or eight years for more serious charges related to the incident. No lawyer was listed for him at the time of the report.
The police said the man threw a "sub-style" sandwich at a Customs and Border Protection officer Sunday night, the day before President Donald Trump's announcement that his administration was temporarily taking over Washington's police force.
After minutes of yelling, the man paused briefly, wound up and threw the sandwich into the chest of the CBP officer, then ran into the street as officers chased him.
Court records did not list a lawyer for Dunn or any scheduled court hearings, and he did not respond to requests for comment.
The crime he is charged with carries a maximum of one year in prison, or up to eight years if it involves "physical contact" or the intent to commit another felony.
