Las Vegas has witnessed a decline in tourism for six consecutive months, with June reporting nearly 400,000 fewer visitors compared to last year, a drop of 11.3 percent according to the LVCVA. This downturn occurs during a typically slower summer season and coincides with concerns regarding trade wars, immigration policies, and rising prices affecting consumer spending. Both hotel occupancy rates and convention attendance decreased. Harry Reid International Airport reported a decline of about 318,000 passengers in June. Nonetheless, nearly 3.1 million people still visited Las Vegas that month.
According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), June saw nearly 400,000 fewer visitors compared to last year, marking an 11.3 percent decrease.
Experts note that summer is typically slower for Las Vegas, but the decline in tourism correlates with concerns over President Trump's global trade policies and rising consumer prices.
