Koepka leaving LIV Golf, cites family reasons
"We have amicably and mutually agreed that Brooks Koepka will no longer compete in the LIV Golf League, following the 2025 season. Brooks is prioritizing the needs of his family and staying closer to home. We appreciate the significant impact he has had on the game and wish him continued success, both on and off the course."
"Family has always guided Brooks' decisions, and he feels this is the right moment to spend more time at home. Brooks will continue to be a huge supporter of LIV Golf and wishes the league and its players continued success. Brooks remains passionate about the game of golf and will keep fans updated on what's ahead."
Brooks Koepka will not return to the LIV Golf League in 2026 and will be replaced as Smash GC captain by Talor Gooch. The departure was described as amicable and mutual, with Koepka prioritizing family and staying closer to home. Koepka signed with LIV Golf in June 2022 and reportedly had one year remaining on a contract worth more than $100 million. His management thanked Yasir Al-Rumayyan, Scott O'Neil, teammates and fans and said he will remain a supporter of LIV Golf. Koepka's wife suffered a miscarriage in October and the couple has a 2-year-old son. It remains unclear when he might be permitted to return to the PGA Tour given prior suspensions for players who competed in LIV events without releases.
