Aron subsequently disclosed that he brought the child to a wedding in Rockland County, only learning upon returning to his Kensington apartment that a massive search operation had been launched for the missing boy. He recalled how they viewed television together before retiring to separate rooms following the wedding."
"Aron stated he reported to his hardware store job the next day, then came back to prepare a tuna sandwich for the boy, who bore ligature marks on his wrists indicating he was being held against his will. The Borough Park neighborhood in Brooklyn, known for housing one of the largest Orthodox Jewish communities globally, saw thousands of volunteers combing the streets in search of the missing boy."
Levi Aron abducted eight-year-old Leiby Kletzky after the child became lost while walking home from a religious summer camp in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Aron escorted Leiby to a wedding in Rockland County, then returned to his Kensington apartment where he later drugged and suffocated the boy. Leiby’s wrists bore ligature marks indicating he had been restrained. Aron dismembered the body, discarded most remains, and kept the child's severed feet in a freezer. Thousands of volunteers in the Orthodox Jewish community searched the neighborhood. Aron died in prison last month, nearly 15 years into his sentence.
