A UPS cargo plane crashed shortly after departing Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport at about 5:15 p.m. local time, erupting into a massive fireball. At least three people were killed and 11 injured; the plane had three crew members on board and officials expect the fatality count to rise. The flight was bound for Honolulu, Hawaii. Footage showed fire on one wing during takeoff and a huge fireball on impact, setting several industrial buildings ablaze and producing thick smoke visible miles away. The FAA reported the crash and the NTSB is investigating. A shelter-in-place order covered locations within five miles of the airport.
