Israel says it received remains of 3 hostages from Gaza as fragile ceasefire holds
"They were thrilled, in one sense, but in another sense, obviously, it's not too great,"
"This cursed war has taken so many lives of dear people on both sides of the fence. This time, we must not fall into it again,"
The remains of three hostages were handed over from Gaza and will be examined by forensic experts as a fragile, month-old ceasefire holds. A Hamas statement said the remains were found in a tunnel in southern Gaza. Since the ceasefire took effect on Oct. 10, Palestinian militants had released remains of 17 hostages, with 11 remaining in Gaza before the handover. Israeli military said official identification will be provided to families first. U.S. President Donald Trump indicated one returnee was Omer Neutra. Gaza health officials struggle to identify bodies without DNA kits, with only 75 of 225 returned Palestinian bodies identified.
