"Are you Haitian?"
"[It has] nothing to do with my race, buddy,"
"Your boy, he's Haitian, right?"
"I'm going to run some checks when I get back,"
Scott Deiseroth, a 42-year-old ICE agent and former U.S. Army staff sergeant, was arrested on Aug. 13 in the Florida Keys on suspicion of driving under the influence with children in the car and resisting officers without violence. Deiseroth has been placed on administrative leave from his Miami ICE post. Body-camera footage captures Deiseroth failing a field sobriety test, repeatedly asking deputies for leniency because of his law enforcement status, and pressing a Black deputy about his nationality. Deiseroth said he would run immigration checks and suggested deportation if the deputy were "not legit." Deiseroth also expressed fear of losing custody of his sons.
