The NYC metro area is experiencing heavy snowfall from an ongoing blizzard, with many communities reporting 8 to 14 inches and higher totals on Long Island and Staten Island. Double-digit totals have appeared across the five boroughs, including 14.0 inches in Dongan Hills, 12.0 inches near Mott Haven, and about 11 inches in parts of Manhattan and Brooklyn. Long Island reports include 10 to 10.4 inches in Suffolk County and roughly 7 to nearly 12 inches in Nassau County; Hudson Valley amounts are slightly lower but rising. Forecasters expect snowfall to continue through Monday, and travel remains dangerous across much of the region.
